    Our 23-minute video documentary explores the effects of a racially-motivated drug bust in the tiny town of Tulia, Texas. Over an 18-month period, in a town so small it can barely support a Dairy Queen, the agent maintained his cover while allegedly making over 100 controlled buys of illegal narcotics, mostly cocaine. The morning of the arrests, which were finally conducted en masse on July 23, 1999, brought more surprises. Although the arrest warrants were served at dawn, surprising most of the defendants in their beds, no drugs, money, or weapons were seized in the roundup. Only a few of the alleged dealers were able to raise the money to bond themselves out of jail. Many lived in public housing or trailer homes.

    By the end of the week, as the rest of the suspects were rounded up, it was evident that the 41 persons targeted by the sting had something else in common. Thirty-nine of the arrestees came from Tulia's tiny black community, which numbers no more than 300. Nearly twenty percent of the town's black population had been taken down by one undercover agent.

    Rayful Edmond III probably is the most notorious drug dealer in Washington, D.C. history. In the early 90's when he was arrested for running a criminal enterprise the trial riveted the area. From news accounts he started drug dealing at an early age - in fact his entire family has a history of organized criminal activity dating back to the fifties. I read a newspaper account that claimed he was bagging cocaine for his father at the tender age of 3.

    This docudrama uses news clips, interviews with Edmond associates and undercover cops, televised interviews with Edmund himself, and reenactments to tell Edmond's life story. For the most part it is okay but the choice of music is sometimes questionable and the arrest scene staged for this film was a bit silly and overblown.
    This docudrama appears to be told from the point of view of Rayful Edmond. It tries to make Edmond out really not to be that bad of a guy. His associates describe him as a peaceful, fun loving guy throwing money around to all his friends and neighbors. For example, he settled a violent gang war because it was hurting both his business and the rival gang's. And all those witnesses schedule to appear at this trial that got murdered? That was somebody else not Edmond! Give me a break! This guy had connections to the Columbian drug lords and was crafty enough to broker drug deals from jail. I find it incredulous to claim he didn't have anything to do with witnesses getting knocked off or that he wasn't part of all the violence that gripped DC because of drugs in the late `80s and early `90s (and still does today).

    "Uncovered - The Whole Truth about the Iraq War" is a chilling exposé of the lies upon which the war on Iraq is based. This DVD reveals that the idea for war against Iraq came to the Bush administration on September 11th, 2001. They realized that the fear instilled in the US population by the terrorist attacks in New York and DC would be a wonderful way to mobilize the US population for war against Iraq. The only thing necessary was a justification, so they decided to mislead the US population into believing that Osama bin Laden and Saddam are partners, and that Iraq had nuclear capabilities that they planned to soon use against us. As this DVD reveals, these were all lies.
    br> Most of the lies are by now well-known to those of us who were opposed to the war from the beginning: there are no weapons of mass destruction, Iraq was not gearing up for war with the US, Saddam and bin Laden are not partners and in fact opposed one another. But this documentary is still interesting because it contains the interviews of many people who have worked within the governmental and military system for decades, such as: former Ambassador Joe Wilson; weapons inspectors Scott Ritter and David Albright; anti-terrorism expert Rand Beers; former CIA analyst Ray McGovern, former CIA operative Robert Baer; and Washington editor of The Nation, David Corn. It's fascinating for me to see footage of people who are within the system, believe in the system, and yet are willing to come forward and speak out against Bush and the war on Iraq. For example, John Dean, former White House counsel, comments on the lies Bush told to Congress about Iraq's nuclear capabilities, explaining that it is a federal felony, a crime, to distort information that you present to congress.

    I was also struck by the juxtaposition of archival footage, gleaned from a variety of talk shows and public addresses, of Bush, Powell, Rice, and other White House representatives, telling their lies and uttering their buzz words and catch phrases. Asking such ridiculous questions as, "Why should we wait for that smoking gun in the form of a mushroom cloud?" During the buildup to war I had avoided watching such addresses, (because I knew it was all nonsense) so it is interesting to now see such footage. It is so easy to see how all these appearances were scripted. Bush, Rice, Powell, and company, all come across as robots, shells of human beings. It made me wonder what it was like to lie to a nation, the entire world even, knowing that your lies would result in the deaths of thousands: about 10,000 innocent Iraqi civilians have been killed, and nearly 700 US soldiers have since been killed. It's a chilling thing to imagine. I don't know how they can sleep at night.

    The documentary closes with some wonderful commentary on patriotism and all the propaganda we heard that those of us who oppose the war are traitors, that if you oppose the war then you are not supporting the troops. Milt Bearden, former CIA Station Chief in Pakistan with 30 years of service, comments that unlike just about anyone who holds office in the US, he has two sons who served in the military and even went into combat. In Mr. Bearden's words, "I don't have to take any such nonsense on this. And I won't."

    The story of Fred Hampton, Jr. is one that began before he was even born. His life is forever overshadowed by the legacy of his father, Fred Hampton, Sr. .

    On December 4th, 1969, Fred Sr. slept beside his pregnant girlfriend, Akua Njeri. Allegedly drugged with secobarbitol before bedtime, Fred Hampton would never again see the light of day. He was murdered during the early morning hours in the now infamous Chicago Panther House Raid.

    While Fred Hampton, Jr. was still in his mother's womb, a huge part of his history was taken from him: his father.

    In 1990, at the age of 20, Fred Jr. was already extremely active in the same political circles that proved to be deadly for his father.

    At this time he became the President of the local National People's Democratic Uhuru Movement(NPDUM), joining their fight for the rights of African people in the US.

    In March 1992, the government made two separate attempts to indict Fred Hampton, Jr on charges of Murder and Armed Robbery. He was found not guilty of both, much to the dismay of the prosecuting attorney who remarked, "...Fred Hampton Jr., we'll get you yet." In May of that same year, Fred was brought in again. This time he was accused of firebombing a Korean Merchant's store.

    A corrupt and rushed trial ensues and many aspects of the courtroom procedure hint at the political sensitivity of the accusation. For example, the NPDUM's page says the jury was rigged to exclude those with positive recollections of the BPP and Fred Hampton, Sr., but included those who feared blacks and had been robbed. The judge refused to allow the name "Fred Hampton" to be used in court.

    There was also a lack of evidence- There is no evidence of a fire No fire truck came to the scene The store was not closed for more than 15 minutes
    Fred Hampton was allowed no character witness.
    When Fred Jr.'s mother takes the stand to testify as to where Fred Jr. was at the time of the alleged incident, the main focus of questioning is her political affiliation with militant and radical groups like the BPP and the NPDUM

    On May 19, 1993, Fred Hampton, Jr. is sentenced to eighteen years in prison on ONE count of aggravated arson.

    Fred Hampton, Jr inherited his father's gift for politics as well as his ability to frighten the government with his effectiveness in organizing. The "Free Fred Hampton, Jr." site seems to be the only comprehensive internet source providing information about his run-ins with the legal system. The site was last updated in 1996 and after countless attempts to search for further updates on the status of the case, it was realized that there is limited access to information regarding these topics. We tried to email the Foundation to Free Fred Hampton, Jr. to gather information about his status in jail but received no response. The information is outdated but does a good job of presenting the facts that are relevant to the cause. No other sources with updates about the plight of Fred Hampton, Jr. were found. This seemed to be a common thread throughout our research, as there is a lack of information about the Black Panther Party and the Chicago Murders in particular.

    One reason could be that despite the longest civil trial in US history (as of 1996), there is a lot of conflicting information and some sources may not be 100% accurate or may be biased. Another reason is that the government has tried to suppress information about its Post-Civil Rights Era activities. For this reason, much of the information that is needed about these subjects simply disappeared. The NPDUM is considered a radical group, but by speaking out about issues concerning them, the NPDUM merely exercises Constitutional rights. It has been suggested by the media and several government officials that race riots in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1996, were prompted by the NPDUM. Enraged

    In 1968 the Film Group, a Chicago production company, began filming a documentary about the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party and their chairman Fred Hampton. A fiery orator, Hampton was only 20 years old at the time, but his electrifying words and actions were inspiring young Black people to demand respect and to insist that their power and voice be felt in local politics, in any politics. But Fred Hampton's dream included all people when he proclaimed in the voice of the prophet, "... if we don't stop fascism it'll stop us all."

    At that same moment the FBI/CIA was implementing their notorious domestic counterintelligence program (COINTELPRO) aimed at illegally suppressing domestic dissent and aimed especially at growing radical political organizations like the Black Panther Party. One FBI memo stated their charge as the need to "prevent the rise of a 'messiah' who could unite and electrify the militant black antinationalist movement." Working with local police departments, the government moved against Black Panther chapters and leaders across the country.

    On December 4, 1969, in a predawn FBI-directed Chicago police raid, four Panthers suffered gunshot wounds, and Mark Clark and Fred Hampton were murdered. Within hours, Panthers arranged to get the Film Group crew into the scene and they were able to record the carnage. The film shows vividly what the police do to those who dare to openly, aggressively challenge government authority. In addition, the footage of the bloody, bullet-riddled wreckage directly contradicted the State's Attorney's version of the raid, and so filmmakers and Panthers came together to prove that Hampton had been the designated target of the violent, punitive raid. The film's inquiry pursues official spokesmen and traps them in their own lies and attempt at a cover-up of a brutal orchestrated assassination.

    Black women all over the country became furious with Sister Sharazad Ali for statements made concerning Black women; such as the fact that the Black woman is "out of control" and that one of the options available to the Black man when the Black woman's mouth becomes uncontrollably disrespectful was that he could "offer her an open-handed slap in the mouth."

    Some people acted as though Sister Sharazad had invented "domestic violence", that physical fighting between the Black man and the Black woman did not exist and that as a result of "The Blackman's Guide..." pandamonium would break out among Black people, and Black women all over the country.

    The Architecture of Doom provides both within two hours and presents Nazi documentary and propaganda films never before shown. The original film 1989 "Undergångens arkitektur" was made in Sweden by Peter Cohen and presents a history of the rise and fall of Hitler's Nazism from the perspective of art and design.

    ARCHITECTURE OF DOOM opens with an overhead pan of the peaceful autumn forests over Linz, Austria, boyhood home of artist, designer and draftsman Adolf Hitler. The film shares with the viewer in pictures, music and words the early influences on that mind: in fact, Richard Wagner's music and writings are shown to have had the most profound effects on Hitler's development of the Nazi culture and its ethos. It is in Linz that the design for a new Germany with its Master Race evolved in the head of its designer. The narrator points out, virtually all leaders of Nazi Germany were failed artists, poets and writers. They organized the Nazi movement and promoted its central aesthetics for both the parade ground and museums. Then they recruited the entire German medical profession to aid them in perfecting the Aryan Race by weeding out for destruction those characterized as inferior.

    Newly presented in ARCHITECTURE OF DOOM are the most complete collections of original drawings and paintings by Hitler, and documentary footage of his opening Nazi art shows where often he purchased most of the works. Hitler's 3 hour tour of the art museums of German occupied Paris is most interesting. Also shown are the early medical propaganda films seen in theaters all over Nazi Germany at the beginning of the 1940s. Their purpose was to prepare the German people for social cleansing of the "inferiors" in their midst. This Nazi project backfired because, as the narrator points out it made the people worry that soldiers wounded in battle would suffer a similar fate. The medical propaganda programs in public movie houses had to be discontinued. But the so-called euthenasia programs continued and grew.

    Also novel in this film was presentation of Hitler's concept that the "other" pure race competing with the Aryan is the Jew. This explained why Hitler was willing to sacrifice his own soldiers in order to facilitate the Final Solution to the the Jewish Question. Faced with the virtual certainty by 1943 that Germany would lose its two front war, Hitler decided that exterminating the world's Jewry was a higher priority than winning battles. Indeed, he had a vision of Nazi Germany as the Phoenix that would rise out of the ashes of its World War II destruction. As ARCHITECTURE OF DOOM points out with archival examples, Hitler and Speer had designed many of their most ambitious public arenas and citadels for such inevitable destruction .... complete with drawings of weeds growing out of the rubble!

    The Holocaust was part of Hitler's grand art and design. The viewer will come away from this film with horrified fascination and a better appreciation for what happens when artists and physicians collaborate to produce a Hell on Earth in the name of human progress!

    The final title in the trilogy "Vicious Circle" focuses on the relationship between Guy Fisher an Nicky Barnes, the two most notorious drug figures in the New York drug trade.

    Fisher the former owner of the world famous Apollo Theater, and Barnes, named "Mr. Untouchable" by the NY Times, were at once friends, competitors, and allies in the struggle to control the lions share of America's heroin trade. After years of circumventing the law, Barnes was eventually arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment, without the eligibility of parole. Interestingly, the prosecutor in the case was the soon to be mayor of NYC, Rudolph Giuliani. Eleven months after his incarceration, in exchange for a reduction in his sentence, Barnes telephoned Federal prosecutors indicating that he would agree to become a government informant in their case against Guy Fisher and a number of other people. This testimony was all the state needed to put Fisher away for the rest of his life.
