To use, put the balance beam on the unit, hang a piece of yarn in the "V" of the balance beam, trim the length of the yarn until the beam balances parallel, measure how many inches long the yarn is, multiply x 100. EXAMPLE: If your trimmed piece of yarn measures 12 inches, multiply x 100 = 1200 yards per pound.
